One needs a weather report for local areas, Vancouver had a beautiful dry Saturday but of course not for the Velo Vets, the ride started in cold cloudy conditions and quickly turned to showers and then before the grocery store stop and turn around a monsoon. Everyone was cold and wet, feet frozen but as the Vets do shrug and keep on pedaling. Coming up to the near end and River Rd., glorious warm sunshine and of course sunny for the rest of the day. Gotta love it!!!! LOL
But with a change of clothing and a beer and or coffee and an excellent luncheon all was forgotten. 28 riders devoured the eats and everyone looked happy. Thanks to all for coming out, for supporting your club and contributing to the 50-50 draw. My apologies for misreading the weather.
Now on another remarkable story, our club member Guy Smith is not only a very strong cyclist but a very fast marathon runner. In the BMO Vancouver Marathon yesterday Guy won his age group M60-64, finishing in 3:00:49, 10 minutes ahead of the second place finisher in that category! This is the fastest marathon time for age over 60 in Canada this year. A terrific run Guy!!!!
